Club Meetings
Note* Click on underscores to view. *Note
Club business meetings are held on the third Monday of each month from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in the Parish hall of
St. Paul's Church. St. Paul's Church is located at the corner of Route 44 and Traver Road in Pleasant Valley, N.Y. Meetings consist of a brief business session followed by a "Show and Tell" session where members present their completed work and discuss it with the group. At times, demonstrations or guest speakers may also be part of the meeting.
In addition to the business meetings, two workshops are held per month, on the first and second Mondays of each month. The workshops are also from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. These workshops are attended by those who like to carve in a group where they socialize as they work, exchanging carving tips and experiences. This is particularly helpful for beginners and intermediates who are either learning to carve or wish to try a new technique. Advanced carvers work with these individuals
upon request. Carving blocks and tools are available for sale. Tool sharpening, use of tools and other topics are addressed. A lending library containing patterns, books and videos is also available to members.
Group Projects
The club sponsors group projects in which all members who wish may participate. Past examples of club projects include a Donor tree for the Hyde Park Hospice Center, a full size carousel horse , a Baptismal Font & Candle Holder for the Church, and a sign commemorating the 150th Dutchess County Fair. We also work on carvings such as Santa Claus that can be used as gifts. Animal and bird carvings are also undertaken at times.

Shows
Club officers are constantly alert to discover opportunities for members to display their work at fairs, shows and other public functions to demonstrate the techniques and sell if they wish.
Dues
Club dues are a nominal $15.00 per adult per year. The money is used primarily to put out a newsletter and to cover meeting and show costs.
